Is there any point in evolving Chimchar in Pokemon Diamond?
I was looking at its learnset on wikipedia and noticed that Chimchar will learn flamethrower at level 41. I then looked at Infernapes learnset and was shocked to discover - HE DOESN'T LEARN FLAMETHROWER. Aside from the fact that it will help fill my pokedex, is there any point in evolving him?
Well, when you evolve your pokemon, all their stats go up by a certain amount. So, once you evolve your chimchar, it will get considerably stronger. Also, take into consideration; chimchar will learn flamethrower at level 41, but it won't learn close combat like infernape will, which is a strong fighting move.
