Gilman China

Why are all the best books about China written by foreigners?

I was browsing Amazon's bestsellers list in the China category, and I noticed EVERY single one of them from 1-100 is written by a westerner:

#2 Country Driving by Peter Hessler
#4 To a Mountain in Tibet by Colin Thubron
#20 The Foremost Good Fortune by Susan Conley
#24 Undress Me in the Temple of Heaven by Susan Jane Gilman
#39 Ghost Train to the Eastern Star by Paul Theroux
#47 CHINA: Portrait of a People by Tom Carter

Is this some kind of conspiracy by western publishers to keep Chinese authors off the shelves, or is it that foreigners just know China better than the Chinese?

Also, if possible, can you please suggest some good CHINESE authors?

because the Chinese Communist Party government does not like Chinese people to think on their own.
the CCP want to control Chinese people's brain so they do not think freely.
so Chinese are not creative as result of CCP government.

the Chinese Communist Party government also have a Cultural Revolution in the 1960's. The Cultural Revolution called for burning of historical books, ancient artifacts, and traditional Chinese cultures.
So many good literature and books burnt because of Chinese Communist Party's Cultural Revolution.
Traditional Chinese writing was destroyed to become Simplified Chinese writing.

Only countries outside China during Cultural Revolution not affected by Cultural Revolution, such as Hong Kong and Taiwan. They still have traditional Chinese cultures and use Traditional Chinese writing system. They are more real Chinese than Chinese in China.
