Can you put a glass of wine in the oven to cook with?

I wanted to try and bake cake in a glass of wine for a dessert, but I do not know if the glass will be able to handle it? the highest temp I'd put the glass is 350 degrees F for about 10-15 minutes.

If this is not made by Pyrex or Corningware, and the box it does not say "the oven", then it's probably not a good idea. Glass furnace Security is formulated and heat treated so you do not have interal stresses whiich causes of cracks when the glass expands when heated above the boiling point of water. A mason jar, for example when survives well done home canning in boiling water, but more often will break if placed in an oven of 300 degrees. I learned this from the Hard Way. A guy can survive a Blown Glass. wine glasses are made by two different methods, cast and blown. blown glass is made by hand and have a chime and distinct, when it struck and two side Coast will be slightly different. molded lenses do not play, think more like a sound, and You Can usually spot the seam where the two halves have meltd been together, and when placed side by side are virtually identical. If all else fails, you can always try and see.
