What is the difference between an air grinder and an air die grinder?
Ok, gotta ask this one, even if it's a bit on the stupid side, cause I don't have any experience with this stuff. It appears that the grinder is used for removing paint, rust and such from the surface of cars, though I suppose it could be used on any type of metal surface. The die grinder on the other hand looks like it's used to create holes in metal objects, such as in porting an engine, which usually means making the air intake/exhaust ports (or "holes") bigger. Is this in the ballpark? Thanks.
yes your in the ball park. the air grinder is for larger close to flat area's, the die grinder will take a variety of tools to perform jobs ranging from cutting steel,removing old gaskets/glue, and grinding burrs to shape steel.
