How do I go about painting a wooden duck with Oil Paint?
I have much experience with the Oil Painting on canvas, but one of my friends asked me to paint this beautiful wood duck he carved. I have never painted on wood and would appreciate advice! I usually pianta Grumbacher oil pretested and that's what I intend to use it if I did not buy something I will not use it again. I also already covered in plaster duck. Thank you!
You Paint it as you would do anything else. It is good that you put gesso on it, that will help keep the wood from splitting. The thinner you keep your paint the less likely you'll be splitting the wood.
