Kit green screen studio lights in a plastic cover and began to smoke ..!?
I just got a screen kit green for Christmas, which includes: a green screen, bars to hold it up, stands, studio lights, and dvds. Well I started using it and I had the plastic cover on the big studio lights and the top started to smoke! he began to smell sooo baddd. i was down there for about half an hour with the smell too! Do I need the plastic lid and let it see the full light that literally blinds you? and smell harmful to my lungs!?! : P I really thought the plastic cover would have been to top
Dooh course. This lamp can earn up a thousand degrees F to plastic being burned. It should be a warning on the bulb or lamp. And yes, if you look right into the lamp, it will be painful, but that light is supposed to be the lighting chroma key background or subject. And yes, the steam that led you to burn the plastic could be harmful if you spent a lot of time to breathe. How long have you let the plastic burn? A few seconds? This has got to be the first time you've used light bulbs or the power would never have happened. Also remember to adjust the white balance on your camera to incandescent or you'll also other problems.
