What is Acrylic paint?
I have one tube of paint, named as "intro acrylic" It's in pink.
It's from www.reeves-art.com.
I really don't know what it is for... =(
ps: i made some models out of paper dough, something white, imported from japan, that's already ready made. And it drys up fast.
After it's dry, is it okay to paint the model using acrylic??
I checked out the website you mentioned but couldn't find much of anything there! I'm wondering if the paints you got are actually put out by them or just carried by them from a manufacturer.
At any rate, I think the "intro" acrylic just means that it's a "beginner" acrylic paint perhaps, not an "artists' quality" acrylic. That would be fine btw since many acrylic paints used are just the "craft" acrylics, not the "artists' quality ones.
Acrylic paints are the traditional types for painting on top of air-dry clays (and even mixing into them to create colored clays before shaping and drying). Once the air-dry clay is *thoroughly* dry, feel free to paint it with your acrylic paint (though it may take 2 coats for complete coverage).
In fact, it's fine to paint air-dry clays with most any paints but oil paints won't dry very fast, for example, and watercolor paints and other non-permanent paints would require sealing or they'll run.
(Air-dry clays themselves also need sealing since water or moisture can mess them up after drying, but if you cover the whole dried clay item with a layer or two of acrylic paint, you'll be sealing it already...or you can seal the bare clay with permanent clear liquids of various types like polyurethane, or even a permanent white glue thinned down with water to make it more brushable--or a decoupage medium which is the same thing-- etc).
