I have truvativ HUSSEFELT isis cranks for a mtb...PROBLEM!!?
I put my cranks on and they got stuck so bashed them in, now i got the crank removal tool and the left came off easily but the right one has a SLIGHT dent on the thread ( 2 notches) so it wont screw on, my friend told me its made out of an aluminium alloy so i cant re-thread it...i believe i can but want preferably, expert advise.
Generally speaking, the threads on any part can be re-tapped provided they aren't damaged too bad. You mentioned "2 notches"... I'm not certain exactly what you mean by that but if it means that there's two "slight" dents in the threads and nothing more, running the correct tap through the threads could make it serviceable.
Since most cyclists won't have the correct tap or die, I suggest that you take the cranks to your Local Bike Shop or a machine shop and get an opinion. Neither option should be expensive.
